Disclaimer
The BIM-AM Standards and Guidelines are originally developed by the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department and aimed at providing BIM modelling standard, coding standard and information requirement for E&M systems and assets at handover stage for building operation and conforming to EMSD BIM-AM System. The Department is now making the standards and guidelines available for sharing with industry partners. Although every care has been exercised to develop the standards and guidelines, the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department of the Government of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region shall not accept any liability for loss or damage occurring as a consequence of reliance by users in whatever form of the standards and guidelines.
The BIM-AM Standards and Guidelines are living documents and the content may be changed any time without prior notice. For enquiries, please send an email to bimam-support@emsd.gov.hk.
EMSD had been deploying BIM for asset management in various government owned and public bodies owned venue and buildings, including government offices, NGO venues, hospitals, etc.
Since 2015, EMSD had been actively promoting the use of BIM for asset management in various occasions. The contribution had also been accredited by various awards.

Constuction Industry Conuncil - Zero Carbon Park (former known as Zero Carbon Building) is Hong Kong’s first Zero Carbon Park with different low carbon design and technologies to inspire the construction industry to create a sustainable built environment. EMSD had collaborated with CIC to integrate Internet-of-Things sensor technogy into BIM with asset management function to demonstrate the use for remote dianosis.
- Fault Reporting (03:30) [MP4 format (320MB)]
BIM-AM System makes fault reporting and job assignment much easier and faster for all concerned. See how it works in an air-conditioning system showcase.
- Offsite Pre-Diagnosis (01:51) [MP4 format (172MB)]
Pre-diagnosis of root cause of fault can now be made offsite anywhere anytime, thanks to rich, real-time 3D information from BIM-AM System. See how it works.
- Onsite Reporting (02:38) [MP4 format (237MB)]
Onsite repair is also faster and more effective, with easier safety compliance and documentation. See how BIM-AM System supports and streamlines the process in real life.
